Mon, January 15, 2018 at 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM EST at UPO “Petey Greene” Community Service Center (2907 Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE)
- Description: Join the United Planning Organization as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in a Day of Service on Monday, January 15, 2018! Please arrive by 8:30AM to attend our Volunteer Orientation, a light breakfast will be provided.
Mon, January 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST at Marvin Gaye Park (5200 Foote Street NE)
- Description: More than 100 volunteers from surrounding neighborhoods including local dignitaries, teen service leaders and school aged children will work together to beautify Marvin Gaye Park in Washington D.C.
Mon, January 15, 2018 at 9:30am – 1:00 pm at Islamic Heritage Museum (2315 Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE)
- Description: Islamic Relief USA is celebrating the MLK Day of Service on January 15th 2018 by teaming up with America’s Islamic Heritage Museum from 9:30 am – 1pm by serving over 500 hot meals including hot beverages to the needy population of Washington DC. We will also be passing out hot chocolate/coffee to those standing along the route of the MLK Day Parade. We will have IRUSA shirts or vests for all volunteers but please dress warm. Volunteers need to arrive at 9:30 sharp.
