Monica Mitchell, Vice President and Community Development Officer in the Wells Fargo Government and Community Relations Group, recently joined LISC DC’s Local Advisory Committee (LAC).
Monica’s main community outreach passions are financial literacy and mentoring. She has coordinated hundreds of financial education seminars for businesses, schools, and nonprofits.
A Baltimore native, Monica enjoys educating and motivating individuals and families throughout Maryland to reach their full potential through economic empowerment.
Though new to the DC and Northern Virginia markets, Monica has nearly 15 years of experience in banking and has been a Wells Fargo team member for over a decade.
As President of Wells Fargo’s Team Member Volunteer Chapter, Monica encourages her team members to volunteer for various causes and initiatives.
In addition, she coordinates her chapter’s financial education, group community service participation, and community development outreach.
Monica also sits on the Wells Fargo Foundation Board which is dedicated to improving the community through corporate philanthropy combined with volunteer service.
FUN FACT ABOUT MONICA: Monica is a founding Board President of the all-girls Lillie May Carroll Jackson Charter School – the first public charter school in the nation approved to be opened by an independent private school.
