The Most Rewarding Aspect of Community Development Work is…

… the completion of a project.

“When a project is done, you get to see people enjoying the places and spaces that have been created,” said Robert A. Peck, the Southeast Region Director of Consulting and co-leader of Government Practice for Gensler, a global architecture and design firm.

Bob, a nationally recognized advocate for high- quality public architecture, smart growth and sustainable building, is an experienced commercial real estate, nonprofit and public sector executive. He assists clients with workplace strategy and portfolio optimization.

As a new member of our Local Advisory Committee (LAC), Bob will serve as an ambassador in the community, and weigh in on LISC DC’s programs, projects, and initiatives.

The transformation that has occurred in Congress Heights (where Bob lived as a very young child) due to investments in housing, health, retail, and the arts is an example of how residents are now enjoying the new places and spaces (e.g. THEARC) that have been created with investments from LISC DC and others.

Be sure to check out  the results of LISC DC’s investments in neighborhoods throughout the District, and if you see Bob while you’re out and about, say “hello,” and welcome him to the LISC DC team.

FUN FACT ABOUT BOB:  Bob was a Special Forces officer in the U.S. Army Reserve
